If the ceramic surface of the cooktop is defective or chipped, cracked or broken in any way, immediately turn the cooktop off and do not continue to use it. Disconnect the cooktop from the power supply and contact Miele. If the cooktop is installed behind a cabinet door, do not close the door while the cooktop is in operation. As in an induction hob thats all that fails as you have the magnetic plates and the power board. Now the magnetic plates never fail as its always the electronic control board that fails on induction hobs. So try disconnecting the power and see if this clears the fault but if not then the electronic control board will need to be replaced.

Nothing but positive things to say about Miele.i Finally went back to Miele after struggling with Bosch and LG for three years.Published: January 27, 2020
Been using the Combi Steam oven and the 30 inch convection oven with steam, both with M Touch for 4 months now. Yes they work perfect as expected but the ovens make most of our foods taste better. Really is an amazing thing. I almost always use M Touch which helps me make my cooking adventures successful. The Combi Steam replaces our microwave which is not permitted in her new completely redone home. It does take about three minutes Longer to heat up food instead of seconds in a micro. But.....the texture of the food is unchanged. That alone makes the steamer worth the cash. When I am heating up pot pie, pasta or pizza, because you control the percent steam in the oven, the food never ever dries out, usually tastes like it first came out of the oven the day before. Cooks lobsters as good as you will find anywhere. Now as far as reliability goes, way too early but I am protected for five years on these two (6780 and 6700) and the Miele dishwasher and six burner cook top. They all work better than any appliance I ever owned. And the dishwasher solves all my issues with dish washing.......very PleasedPublished: January 18, 2020
Long story short, the unit we got turned out to be a lemon. Through AJ Madison's help, Miele's sales organization intervened and cut through the process by just sending us a brand new unit and having Miele's white-glove service people install it, no charge. Now that's what I call service. Kudos to both Miele and John Pereira at AJ Madison. The second unit has been working fine. My suspicion is that Miele hasn't been in the freestanding range business for very long and that it's taken them a couple of years to work out quality control kinks with units in the field, but they've gotten there. The quality control has caught up to the design and functionality, and this is a great range.Published: October 9, 2017
